Tamiya Incorporated, or known globally as Tamiya, is one of the best makers of hobby model kits for diorama and scale-cars collectors around the world.

Known for their interesting takes on the subject to be made as a hobbyist scale-model kits, they also particularly known for highly accurate, and detailed, realistic quality of their offering. This mostly around the subject of historic automobiles, military equipments, and battleships collection.

They offering since the company's inception in Shizuoka, Japan, in 1946, is more than just educational-purpose model kits. These days, the offering spanned even broader than just self-assembled plastic models. The themes even go to radio-controlled models for even matured audiences who enjoyed their products since childhood, particularly around static-automobile collection of high-detailed scale models, and their own signature's product catalogue, the Tamiya Mini 4WD all-terrain, battery-powered, chassis-to-battery driven direct-drive motor which resemble the Slot Car Racing, with more advanced construction and packaging.


The 90's battery-powered Mini 4WD's craze can be traced with this historic and perhaps, the well-known iconic Tamiya's Mini 4WD, the Dash 1 Emperor. It was one of the model inspired by the Dash! Yonkuro anime series, which featuring a groups of Mini 4WD's enthusiasts and their dream to be the winner in Mini 4WD Racing League.

The Tamiya Mini 4WD that launched in the 1980's also became a major world sensation during the decade of 90's throughout the earlier 2000's. The popularity spawned their own merchandising media series which includes Manga, animation series, and racing leagues that inspired by the animation series itself, known as Dash! Yonkuro.

The promotional and marketing of the Tamiya which included a highly-detailed,hand-drawn arts for promoting their products especially around the self-assembly plastic scale model market, is also part of the nostalgic runs that these days, are as collectible as the rare stamps and any others desirable trading cards collection.
